Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any plastic surgery done in Kansas City Mo or in the Overland Park KS area. I have only been banded for 2 months now, and have a ways to go yet. But was wanting to hear some feedback. I'm hopeing that I won't have to have alot of work done. So far I've lost 29 pounds and 27 1/2 inches. But I've always wanted a breast augmentation, so maybe I can work that in. Thanks Susan

  6. I am about 10lbs from goal. My lap band surgeon insists that his patients wait at least 12 months b/4 considering plastic surgery. He believes that saggy skin might tighten up within that time period. I do have some saggy skin on the lower stomach but not too bad. I will most definitely consider a TT a year from now if my stomach is still in the shape it is now. The way I see it is; why go through everything that I have to take off this weight and have a poor body image because of the hanging tummy. I am 52 yrs old and consider myself lucky. I have come out of this weight loss with no hanging skin on my arms or anywhere else on my body except for some on the …

Hello! I had a full TT and lift/augmemtation on Sept 8th. I still have my left and right drains in - the left producing less than 20 ccs a day and the right producing 80-90 a day still - bright/dark red. My question is, how tight should I have my binder? Is there a rule of thumb? Obviously not so tight that I can't breathe lol. Any advice is welcome.

Any suggestions out there that aren't covered in the myriad of doctor's papers? (Like baby wipes to stay fresh - that kind of stuff) I am planning on getting the raised toilet seat already. My date is Sept 8th so just about a week to go - woo hoo. I decided to go with about 275 ccs....don't want to look too full but want to have a nice C...any advice is welcomed:thumbup:

  12. I am working on an upcoming article about the psychology of obesity, for a popular magazine. If you are interested in being quoted, please private message me. Specifically, I am interested in: the psychological impact of being obese (personally, professionally, socially) the psychological impact of losing weight (the good, and the bad - has the weight loss improved things psychologically or has it actually made some things worse?) the psychological impact of having bariatric surgery (have people accused you of "taking a shortcut"?) I am looking to incorporate several "stories" into this article. Please send any information to me within the next week. I will contac…

So as if the whole world did not already know, my surgery is set for July 3 at 7:30AM. I will have to be to the surgery center at 6:30. To the dismay of many around here, this will be an outpatient surgery and is scheduled to last 6 hours. Here is what the doc said yesterday. 1. I will have 2, (possibly 3) incisions. One that runs hip to hip (about 3/4 of the way back on the hip), 1 that runs vertically from groin to breast bone, and then possibly one that is horizontal just underneath the bra line. She won't know until she sees how much puckering there will be at the top. I really don't give a CRAP about scarring. I just want to see my belly button!:sneaky: 2. S…

How much did you lose before you had your reconstructive surgery? Was the reconstructive surgery recommended by your doc, or did you ask for it? I am almost 1 year, Post op and I've only lost 60lbs. I would like to wait until i've lost atleast 80lbs (because I'm not sure I'd ever reach the 100lbs weight loss mark), but I was wondering about when or if I should ask for a tummy tuck and breast lift. Right now my breast and pannius seem to have low self esteem. They just look toward the floor (causing slight back-aches and occasional rashes)!!!!Everything has seemed to drop with the weight! Any advice or comments are appreciated. Thanks:embaressed_smile:

Well, I have been thinking about doing this for over two years and last week I finally took the plunge...... I had my eyes and brows done with permanent makeup and now that it is all healed up, I can honestly say that I absolutely LOVE it!!!! I had the eyes done in a very subtle "smudged" effect, with a barely perceptible line on the bottom and a "smoked out" brown line (custom mixed with a wee bit of mossy green to soften the color) on the top that is slightly thicker toward the outer corner and tapers in to a very thin line toward the inner corner. I met with a new PS yesterday that told me my surgeon didn't have enoug skill to perform the tummy tuck and thigh lift for bariatrics patients. Instead of just making a bikini line incision and removing only the pannus, he would have started out with lipo suction first them waited 3 months and done a complete vertical and horizontal incision to remove the pannus and the upper abdominal fat. As far as the thigh lift goes, what a joke. I see now difference whatsoever. He said the only way to remove that fat would have been to make the incision from the top of the thigh to…

Hi everyone. I went for my first consultation last week (8/13) and I'm getting very anxious. I went with the vision of a tummy tuck and an inner thigh lift. After the surgeon took a look at me (how humiliating), he suggested a lower body lift. He said that I wouldn't be happy with the tummy tuck but he felt I would be much happier with the lift. I was wondering if any of you have gone through the procedure of the lower body lift and if so, what can I expect and how much did it costs? I would like to compare the prices to see if I received a good quote. Thanks guys!!!

I had a full abdominal lipo today after losing 80 lbs with my lapband. I looked in the mirror and I see brusing and saggy skin. I do not mind the bruising and skin BUT I am scared to death that my skin is so saggy that it will not go back. My doctor said it will but it almost seems impossible. I am 28 and although young I have battled weight up and down stretching out skin back and forth. Has anyone had lipo and had the skin go back or does anyone have advice for me on how I can get it to go back I am just freaking out and almost regretting it.....I just want a semi flat tummy!!!

  24. I am considering a tummy tuck. Do you think i would be a good candidate if i have had two hernia surgeries in the last 5 years (umbilical and incisional hernia)? The incisional hernia was caused by an old gall bladder surgery over 18 years ago. Is it possible that i will continue to get these hernias because of the fat/bulge in my stomach area? I look like i am about 6 months pregnant and want to get rid of this by exercising but cant b/c of the incisions in my stomach area, it is quite difficult trying to pull myself up. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I will have a limited amount of time off to have anything done, so finding a doctor someone recommends in the area would be very helpful! (I'm hoping for Brachioplasty, breast lift and tummy tuck). I'm also hoping to find a doctor who will do the procedure where they take the fat from the lipo removed to reinject into your breasts (thus not needing implants).
