Well, I have been thinking about doing this for over two years and last week I finally took the plunge......

I had my eyes and brows done with permanent makeup and now that it is all healed up, I can honestly say that I absolutely LOVE it!!!!

I had the eyes done in a very subtle "smudged" effect, with a barely perceptible line on the bottom and a "smoked out" brown line (custom mixed with a wee bit of mossy green to soften the color) on the top that is slightly thicker toward the outer corner and tapers in to a very thin line toward the inner corner. (Me being me, I'm sure I drove the poor makeup artist crazy with my micromanaging of this whole thing, right down to the mixing of the colors :crying:, but she was just lovely, and very patient with me and gave me exactly what I wanted.)

I had the brows done in a reddish-brown (but not too red) color that coordinates with my hair color, but also gives me some leeway if I ever want to change. The makeup artist did a great job and I now have that beautiful, perfect eyebrow arch that I have always wanted, but could never quite achieve with my own natural (thin and scraggly) brow hair.

What I'm absolutely loving about this whole thing is that I can now walk out of the house on a moments notice while no longer having to worry about frightening small children and animals, but yet still have the option to do my makeup when I want to.

It was interesting that I went in wanting my lips and eyes done and the makeup artist told me to skip the lips (she said my lips still had decent natural color and that she didn't see me as one who would want to go without lipstick anyhow) and to do the eyes and brows. I'm really glad I took her advice about this.

Has anyone else had this done?

I've wanted to do the eyeliner bit for years.... and darn it, I think I will :thumbup: I have an entire week off in October, just for me, and that sounds like the perfect time to go this route.

I've used a dark green eyeliner (I've got green eyes.... seems to be the way many go: eye color = eye liner color) forever and will go with that. In the mean time I'll research permanent make up artists in the Portland, OR area. Surely they have some one who can do this....

It's not really saving me very much time because I still have a very involved make-up regime BUT it sure does look better -- especially at night when the applied makeup comes off.

The next thing I want to try are the permanent eyelashes!!!!

BBK, I bet the eyelashes work really well for photos!!! With your height -- you should go for the "glam" ones.

I've decided that I'm going to have this done while I'm in Miami. Assuming I survive my butt lift next week (LOL :wink2:). There is a lady who does them here on the island, but (like everything else around here) it's expensive. I found a spa in Miami that does them for $90 -- for that price I'll give it try, why not?

Between this, the makeup, the updated PS pics, and the backside work, I know I owe you guys about 30 zillion pics, and I promise I will put some up as soon as I can!!!

Hey Frangi, I can't believe I completely missed this thread. What fun you are having! I've often thought about the permanent makeup but have been too afraid. I can't wait to see your pictures. It might give me the courage to go forward.

What happens to the permanent lines if you decide to have an eye lift later? Would they laser them away or would you end up with your eye line in your crease? Surely not!

I don't know how this permanent eyeliner might affect PS on the eyes -- definitely something to ask about in advance if you are considering it.

OKay, I have a tip for all you gals that want longer eyelashes. I bought this product at my plastic surgeon's office and it really works. It's called "Revitalash." It was designed by a doctor's whose wife lost all her eyelashes during chemotherapy. You just put it on like eyeline, except on the top lashes, before you go to bed. I started noticing a difference in about weeks. For the first time in my life, I don't have twigs, my lashes are getting thicker and are definetly longer (people comment on them). Revitalash is expensive ($150), but I think the tuble will last for a long time. It just amazing to me, that there are products for this kind of thing!

Thanks for the tip Karey.... and considering all the $$ I've spent on every type and brand of "best mascara available" to get longer, see-able lashes I don't think $150 sounds too bad at all! I'll have to check and see if it is available locally or if I can order it on line...

I've been researching places in both Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR (just over the river) that do permanent make-up and I have been so disappointed! The places I've found that actually have images available seem so harsh... the lines are thick and obvious. One of the nurses I work with had it done and she HATES it. But, she has a thick, dark line on both her upper and lower lids. I want the results that you posted Frangi.... thin, smudged looking, natural lines. Beaverton, OR and the westside is more upscale.... or The Pearl area in Portland.... I should be able to find something!!!

Oh, and Becky, I would think/hope the line is so close to the lash line that any eye creases woudn't be affected during PS.

OMG Karey! I bought that last year after I noticed a co-worker's lashes that were just so long. It's definitely helped me get rid of my scrawney lashes.

Question for those of you who use revitalash..... do you still wear mascara during the day? I mean, I know you put it on your own, mascara-free lashes/lash line at night, but then can you wear mascara during the day while the stuff is beginning to work, or do you have to leave your lashes make-up free for some down time? Just curious as i don't know how long I could actually last without mascara.

Cori: I still wear mascara. My lashes are light and besides, I'm emotionally attached to mascara! You only don't have to wear mascara at night when you apply the Revitalash! I really am pleased with the length and thickness of my lashes!

I also found another place in vancouver that does permanent make-up. They don't show their photos/results on-line but have a make-over book in house that I can look through. I want to make sure and get someone who has experience AND good results :wink2:

HI glamour girls!! I have had my brows and eye lids done for 4 years! I had the brows retouched last year...I need the eyes done again...

I LOVED it but was sad to see how fast it faded on me??? I am great about wearing sunscrean/ dark glasses outside etc,,, my body chemistry likes to absorb it...so, I will do my lider again some day soon! but I LOVE it!
