5 Days post op - very light headed and weak

Hello everyone!!! I'm 5 days post op and have been miserable! Besides the gas, I've been really light headed, dizzy, and feeling very weak. I know it's a huge adjustment from the way I used to eat before, but is this normal??? I've lost 9 pounds since Thurs, but I have been trying to drink my protein drinks and all the other stuff you're supposed to drink in the first week. I just don't know what to do at this point. I'm almost asking myself why I did this.....

Poor thing! I think everyone says that at first, but in a few weeks you will feel better...I'm not sure about the light headedness...maybe you should call the doc! Just keep drinking the protein and take it ease! Hope you feel better

Your light headedness can be an after-affect of anesthesia. Still probably a good idea to let your doctor know how you're feeling, and ask if there is anything they want you to do about it. Be patient... I bet ya next week will be much better! hang in there! :)

Yesterday I went to get my upper GI done and the nurse told me to get Gas X strips, and a hot water bottle for post surgery. She also said to limit the protein shakes since they cause gas. I suffer from constipation, so I'm really scared! But I found a caffeine free, gentle laxative tea at the supermarket. Organic smooth move, senna - herbal stimulant laxative tea. Hope this helps!
