Am I too tight?

Recommended Posts

Had second fill yesterday under flouroscope. 2.6cc total in my 4cc band

Today I did nothing but PB everything I had. coffee I could feel being held up and 1 piece of cheese would not go down. Stayed on mostly liquids and have felt "stuck" all day.

Should I give it a few days and see if it gets better?

Should I stay on liquids for a few days?

HELP

Hi ConnorsMom,

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it. Being that tight is never any fun.

I tend to stay on liquids a few days after a fill, just to allow things to settle down. I'm also quite stubborn about waiting a few days until I decide if I'm too tight or not though.

If you're feeling uneasy, give your doctor a call and just explain to him. He can make a good recommendation as to what to do.

Hope you're feeling better very soon.

OMG, just the thought of 2.6 in my 4cc and I want to run for the sink. I've been at 2 since Sept and very restricted.

ouch!

My doc requires you to stay on liquids for 3 days after a fill and ten mushies 3 days after that. That is a pretty substantial amount and there is no way I could get more than liquids down the first few days after my last fill. I tool me 2 weeks to get regulsr food down once the swelling went down from the fill. Take it easy and slowly work new foods through. PBing will take it longer to get the swelling down. So stay with liquids and I hope you feel better.

Right after my first fill I felt the same way, it is now 3 weeks later and things are much better. When I first got the fill It took a while to drink my a.m. coffee. It takes time to re-adjust your habits. I had to slow down and take really small bites. I thought maybe I was too full then I reexamined my way of eating. It really is a lot less food. It also takes longer to finish a meal.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
