Seriously Concerned somethings wrong

Recommended Posts

I have been banded for 4 years now. And fora long while I was eating more than my portion was to be because I could not afford going to get my fills. Now i'm having serious acid reflux problems, belching and been bak to 2 fills both times I had to have some Fluid taken out. I don't know if something is obstructed or erosion has possibly happened. I can't usually eat or drink anything in the morning at all. If I do I throw it back up, and I can eat and hold down chili but can't hold down coffee? What's up with that?

I reently had a foot detox that removed alot of heavy metal in it which is probably the acid. I don't have hardly any restriction or feel it at all. At the last fill I had the Dr. unfill and let me drink before letting him fill me back up. I do lose weight but then somehow I gain it back before my next fill. I was also told that it did look like I had an obstruction with the barium swallow last time. I am going to have it unfilled completely. Oh after the unfill I drank a half gallon Water and still felt an icky acidic taste in my mouth.

I believe that I should have an endoscopy done, and as well as maybe have it removed because I dislike all this miserableness I am feeling. I am about to have this whole band removed. I know I eat more than I should but I can't feel it.

Please help give me some insight on what is happening.

I don't have any words of wisdom, I just wanted to wish you luck in getting to the bottom of this and getting back to maybe enjoying your band life again.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
