I got banded on Wednesday! I'm doing pretty good. A bit sore but nothing too bad. I've had my gall bladder out and a c-section, and this was 10x easier than either of those!

My tummy is rumbling, but I get full on the tiniest sips of Water. It's such a strange sensation.

Off to relax a bit and then attempt a shower.

Thanks for all the support!

Amy

Congrats. Glad to hear you're feeling better. You will feel all sorts of different things in the days to come but just know that we have been there, done that, too. If we can be of any help, let us know. You are starting a new journey towards a healthier life and will be slimmer too! Yippee!

Congratulations, and welcome to the band babies club. I am just a day ahead of you, so we both have a bunch yet to discover.

Sounds like you are doing great, no gas pain? I didn't have any either, in fact yesterday morning was the last time I took a pain pill. Tylenol worked fine for me, and I have only had one of those last night at bed time. I am sleeping great, actually better than I have in over a year!

I know that I am O so very lucky with how easy this has been, but my hubby said it is because I have followed the Drs. orders to a Tee.

I hope all continues to go so well for you Miss Amy, get your rest, but also don't forget to walk!

Gentle Hugs

Cheryl

Thanks, everyone!

Cheryl, I feel lucky that I didn't have much gas pain either. I had a little when I woke up and the first night, and that was it. I, too, am following Doc's orders to a T - as a self-pay patient, I am terrified of having to spend more money because I didn't do what I was supposed to!

I've showered, napped, and am sipping on a G2 right now. Tastes soooo good after plain Water for the past few days!

Clear Liquids for 10 days (no Protein shakes) is probably going to be the hardest. I'm hungry in the bottom of my belly, but have no desire to eat. It just feels so weird!

Hi Amy! We were both banded the same day. How are you feeling now? I am hoping that my gas pain is gone that was horrible, now I am just kindof in a dull ache all over but no bad pain. I was also self pay so am trying to be super good as well, I also had a bad hernia repaired so I have a few extra stiches to take care of.

Soexcited, I also had a hiatal hernia (I had no idea!), so I am wondering if that's why I'm a bit tender. Oh well, I know this will all be worth it in a few days when the pain is gone!

ya I am tender for sure and I am sure it has a lot to do with the hernia...how many stiches did you get in yours?

This must be REALLY common, becaise my doc had to do a large hernia repair on me as well. He told my husband I should have had a tremendous amout of heartburn, which I never did.

I also noticed when I signed the consent forms at the hospital it said something about giving permission for hernia repair too.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
