I havent had my surgery yet. I just finished my 1st month of the doctor led weight loss program- which I didnt do well at at all. I will hopefully meet with the surgeon after the first of the year since that is when my insurance kicks in for WLS. Im probably going to go with Dr. Bridget Brady.

Hi there,

I am from Upstate NY, but will be visiting Austin in early April. I was banded on Jan 20, 2009, and would be happy to attend a support group, or forum meeting during my visit. It'll be toward the end of my vacation (I'll be in San Antonio earlier that week), so may need to talk with people who understand by then.

I was also very active in high school and college. When I started working, it would tough to balance everything, though it wasn't until I had a job where I traveled a lot and had to eat out all the time, that it really started packing on. Then some injuries to my feet and shoulders, and I wasn't able to even try to lose it with exercise, so depression followed.

Once I made the decision for the band, I was so excited, I would finally be able to get a handle and maybe lose enough to start exercising! I started swimming again, and now go 3-5 days a week. I haven't tried workouts yet, but got a "new to me" exercise bike for Christmas and am rearranging my home office, so we'll how it goes.

Good luck as you proceed through the process, it will go fast!

Nancy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
