Is there any good Proteins that you do like that your nutritionist has recommended?

Clean out your cabinets of the bad stuff. I know if it's in my house I will eat it. If you make it harder to find, you won't bother.

If you are constantly getting stuck, tell your doc - that is not normal. Go back to mushy stage.. try yogurts, cottage cheese, hummus, Soups, etc.

I know fries were not tolerable for me the first time I was banded.

Good luck and hang in there!

Hello I was Banded just a week before you, I understand your concerns, was able to eat most things I could should not have been able to too, untill i had my second fill! then white bread made me sick, read meat, Pasta. now if i eat the wrong foods or too quick it hurts and it hurts bad! then your mouth fills up with thick saliva and you vomit until the bad food gets out. This also happened with fries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So dont worry my last fill was only half a ml and it made alot of differance. lol and sorry for my honesty but wanna give out that warning. :w00t: Dont worry it will get better! If you keen we can talk and share experiances, I am having a rough time now as I dont seem to be loosing, I am gonna push for a fill thursday coming :wink2:

Ps. BE STRONG! dont eat them just coz you can because that isnt the point! Quote from my surgeon 'You need to stop eating like a fat person to stop being one!' Harsh but true:thumbup:

I HEAR YOU!!!!!!

I thought I was going to choke to death a few times. Seriously!!!! Bottom line is we eat WAY too fast. Slow down puree the food in your mouth and halve each bite size. It is the only way I have found to prevent blockage, and whatever you do dont drink to try to get it to pass through quicker. I am now enjoying all the foods I like, and have a much better time of it since the second fill. I honestly am less hungry. Before I could eat a weeks food in a day without a second thought and had virtually gone into denial that I even had a band. Even was outdoing my father at the all you can eat buffet.

You are normal - we all go through this.

And by the way it is SOOOOO worth it. You just have to climb out of the rut.

I will share a naughty secret with you.... I stopped losing, got a fill, and am now dropping it perfectly.... but I don't know that my method is 100% Kosher.... I am taking a diuretic pill once every second morning. It seems to be working a treat. That plus i am walking at night now, between the two light posts either side of my house, am up to 40 laps so getting better and better. Couldnt do 5 only 2 weeks ago.

Another tip.... go shopping!!!

Find something that fits you tight, like a stretchy top, and buy it, knowing that you are going to look better and better in it.

I squeezed myself into a size 10 on saturday so I bought it lol. I am as motivated as anything now... I am actually a size 16 so it can be done lolol. was a 20.

You have to find out what works for you.... everyone is different. and the disenchantment is normal in my opinion. we all want to be thin fast, just settle for thin eventually!!!!!

Thanks Heaps girls :-)

My issue with where i am living at the moment (and have lived all my life - hense how i got here) is My family are professional athletes... they eat all a very high carb diet with lots of potato, Pasta and breaddd...

my younger brother eats packet crisps, sausage rolls, oven hot chips and all soughts of lollies that if they are there I cannot restrain myself....

I am beginning a practice of mindfulness (becoming as one with my cravings) but I still have a verrryyy long way to go...

As of Jan 3rd I will have my own house AND finally my own control of what goes into that house! So i will finally get freedom of my toxic environment.

It is really hard isn't it :w00t: but i see you are a fellow aussie! soo yayaya!! but yes its ok to be feeling bad about this. i have had my life filled at the moment with abudances of uni work with up and coming exams, I also had my birthday and halloween... but alot is slowly changing over this summer.. i am really going to try.. and use all the strategies i have found on here.. I really need coping strategies to feel success!

I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT! AND JUST LIKE YOU IT ISNT HAPPENING... urghhh.. such a bugger :crying::cursing::blink::unsure::frown::eek::woot::yikes::sad::eek::wink2::crying::cursing::wink2:

Hopefully when you get your own home, you can have better control over what you eat. It will be up to you completely then and you can't blame your family for what you eat. Gain control and hold on to it. You deserve to be healthier and thinner. We all do!

Be careful.

Firstly a diuretic makes you lose Fluid so it's not real weight that you are losing. Secondly taking them when not prescribed and supervised can lead to all sorts of problems not least of which are kidney problems. If your dr has prescribed them great, if not tell your dr what you are doing and see if he/she thinks it is OK to keep taking them.

Most of us have spent years putting all kinds of weird chemicals into our bodies hoping that they will help us win the battle against fat. Now we have a tool to help us that means we don't need to put unnecessary chemicals into our bodies. We need to learn to use the tool correctly - even if sometimes the loss is slower than we would like.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
