3rd Fill is the right one for me!

I was banded in Tijuana MX. by Dr. Kuri on 02/14/05. At that time I weighted 275 lbs. and got my first fill two months later. I had success with the first fill until I hit a plato and got stuck. Drove to TJ and received my second fill at 1.9 cc. I imediately felt no change and unfortunately I could not schedule another adjustment do to a trip. Two days ago finally I made it to the doctor's office and was filled with 3.0 cc. It's been two days and my stomach is very tight and the feeling is just like when I first had the surgery. Up to date I have lost a total of 50 lbs. It sure feels like this is the right fill for me and soon I should be reaching my goal. This is for all of you that get discourage and want to give up. For some it may take 1 or 2 fills and for others like myself 3 or more. The important thing is to follow the rules and stay focus. Good luck everyone!

You give me hope, Dan! I get my first fill on 11/12 and if that doesn't give me the restriction I need I know I'd be freaking out so I will keep your post in mind.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
