I have been really bad this week since I haven't felt well but, normally I workout at the gym for 45 minutes 5 times per week and ride my bicycle 4-6 hours per week.

I just got a fill so I'm hoping I will start losing a little quicker.

I dont follow a Protein heavy diet and would get about 60 to 70 grams a day, but I dont really focus on it. Its not what we're told to do here.

As for exercise, I do something pretty much every day as well as being generally active. at the moment, I do bootcamp Mondays and Thursdays, circuit training Wednesdays, an 8km run Tuesday and Saturday and a long walk (12kms) easy on Sunday. So its pretty much an hour at high intensity five days a week, a long easy session one and a day off.

What are you eating? One thing I do pretty religiously is record everything I eat. And its just for me so I am brutally honest about it. I use fitday.com. I like it because I can record my food, exercise, and weight/weight goals there. And it will break down my intake into percentage of Protein, carbs and fat (it will do it by one individual food, a day, week, months, etc.). If you don't already do that, you should start. You may not realize what you're eating.

I think the nutritionist said that recommended Protein amount for my height/sex was 68-72g per day, but I usually end up getting in about 90. I eat between 800-1000 calories a day (so on avg. - every 100 calories in my diet contains 10g of protein).

I really suck at exercising. When I do it, I do it everyday. But if I stop, even for a couple of days, I don't get back to it for months. And right now, I've stopped and I need to get back to it.

Good luck!

happy2lose,

what do you do when you workout at the gym?

Hello carbgrl,

I have a Curves membership. It's circuit training & resistance training. It's pretty cool because I have a really short attention span so changing gears every 30 seconds is awesome for me. I also use 5lb weights.

Curves has what they call the Smart workout. It is computerized and increases in difficulty periodically. It also tells you how you are working each muscle group and calories burned. The owner at the one I go to has lost 140 pounds and is a great inspiration to me. I get all the support I need from people who work there and workout there. I've made some great friends.

I also love to ride my bicycle. I love to challenge myself with new and difficult hills each time. I take shorter rides on the weekdays but at least one day of the weekend my husband and I take really long rides. Sometimes we leave from our house, other times we throw the bikes in the back of the truck and go to the beach to ride or nearby bike trails.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
