8 months sence last fill, could i be to tight?

Recommended Posts

I had my last fill last feb for a total of 7.5 cc ml in a 14 cc band. Ive lost maybe 10 lbs sence then but get stuck EVERY time i eat even when chewing till there is nothing left to chew. I would say that I pb at least half the food i try to eat then afte eating i still have the stuck felling for hours untill it fades away. Could i have a serrious problem with my band? it hasent been just this fill ive been like this sence the first one. I cant talk to my surgen about it because she moved out of state..

You definitely sound too tight to me. Unless you get your band checked by a doctor, there's no way to know for sure whether you have a slip or not though. One of the major symptoms is a sudden onset of night time reflux, and keeping a too tight band can lead to a slip. I hope you can find another doctor.

Get yourself to a doctor...you are too tight! Not only are you going to become malnourished as you aren't eating properly, but you risk damage to your stomach. The longer you leave a problem unattended, the worse it will get.

If you don't eat enough then your body will hold onto your stored fat and get fuel from it.

You really need to find a new doctor and get checked out as soon as possible.

Are you eating soft foods to compensate for not being able to eat solids? A lot of times, when a band is too tight, people begin eating high caloric soft easy foods because of hunger. It's really hard to say why you're not losing if you're not consuming very many calories.

Also, is there a doctor in the area that you can transfer to? Your surgeon must have had other lap band patients. Is there anyway to connect with another band patient in your area, like a support group or something?

There are sub-forums on LBT from different parts of the country. Maybe you could check there to find another doctor. Also, depending where you live, you might be able to get to a Fill Center USA (http://www.fillcentersusa.com/locator/). I don't know anything about them, but you really need to find a doctor.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
