getting another fill in a week should I do 5 day pouch test before hand?

Recommended Posts

On Nov. 4th I am getting another fill. I can eat to much at each meal and haven't lost any weight in a month. I do try to stick to 4 oz a meal but sometimes eat 5,6, or even 7 oz. Its all healthy food Protein and vegetables or fruit. I was thinking it might be a good idea to do the 5 day pouch test before my next fill to get me back on track and make sure I haven't stretched my pouch.

Ever since I was able to eat food, I think that I have eaten too much. Our plateau is the same. No weight loss in 4-5 weeks. I definately need to find out more about the pouch test.

I just got my 4th fill today. I didn't do the pouch test, but I essentially went on a self-imposed preop diet for the past week before my fill. I was eating a lot of junk, and it was a good way for me to get back on track. I have to do Clear Liquids for the next 3 days, and then full liquids for a couple days after that. I'm hoping when I can eat solid foods (it will have been about 2 weeks on liquids diet by then) I will have lost more weight and will also have the right amount of restriction (I feel like Im close)! Anyhow, I would go for the 5 day pouch test. If anything, it will help you get back to the basics. Good luck!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
