I am filled to roughly 6ccs.

I've had the fill for 2 weeks. I'm waking up at night with severe reflux. I'm already sleeping on a slant and it's still waking me up coughing and with the nasty taste.

So I'm planning on calling to get an unfill.

HOw much do I ask for? When I got filled the Water went down just fine, but it's a night time issue.

I'm not eating anything too spicy or saucey, and I eat around 5:30 and go to bed around 10.

I am losing again and that makes me happy, but I cannot sleep and that stinks.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi:

Your doctor should know how much he should take out to give you relief. You should get in there quickly before you have alot more problems.

I hope you feel better soon.

Take care.

Sue

Hi Lori,

I'm having exactly the same problem, only I've been this way a little over a month. I keep thinking it will relax and get better, but now I'm getting the worried the reflux will start damaging my esophagus.

I'm going to call my doctor and schedule an unfill as soon as I can get in there. I'm not uncomfortable during the day, but at night I'm not getting any sleep (and keeping DH awake with the coughing).

He suggested I check the LBT forum and now I'm so glad I did because (once again) it's nice to know I'm not alone.

Keep us posted how your unfill goes. Hope it works for you (as I'm hoping it will for me too).

I'm happy to report I had an unfill on friday and I haven't coughed at night or had any reflux since then. So for me, at least, that solved the problem.

Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
