16 Weeks Preg, Possible Band Slip

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've been reading from this forum for a while but this is my first post.

I'm 16 weeks pregnant and started having pain at the base of my oesophagus a couple of days ago. Saw my Doc today and she has taken all the Fluid out of my band. She let me know that my symptoms are classic of 'pre-slip'. Has anyone else out there had slippage during early pregnancy and had to have surgery to fix???

Worried Mum to be.

Hey Christina,

I've not had to have surgery yet. My doc took all the Fluid out which gave relief after about a week. He's not prepared to do anything including x-rays until we have no other choice. Hopefully will get through the next 11 weeks (am 29 weeks now) without things changing and we'll re-assess once bub is out.

I'm not too worried if I do have to have surgery before then. My ObGyn and Lap Band doctors said there were several safe surgery options if needed.

Wendy.

I am about 30 weeks and had a slip with my band (though the slip occurred before I got pregnant). I had the doctor take out all my Fluid from the band however I threw up almost daily and now my doctors are concerned that I am not gaining enough weight as I am 7 months pregnant and barely gained 4 lbs.

I am thinking about having the band taken out after I have my baby and get the gastric sleeve as that is what my doctor had suggested.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Nicole

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
