I really need some advice b/c I get all anxious and stuff. I do go to the Dr tomorrow. I feel like I have the symptoms of a slipped band. I have had heartburn for a couple months and have eaten LOTS of tums and took prilosec. But lately I have all of a sudden started getting BAD reflux so bad that I wake up 4-5 times a night choking and inhaling it into my lungs. I've done this 4 night straight this week. I know sudden onset of reflux is a sign of a slipped band. Just so you know, I was banded in March 2008 and had my last fill in November 2008. Tonight I don't think I can eat anything b/c I have this lump feeling in my throat and I am constantly feeling the need to burp and when I can, something comes up. Sorry to be so gross, I just need advise.

Thanks:confused:

Going to the Doctor will help with your anxiety. Maybe it is not a slipped band. Or if it is I heard they take the fill out for a couple of weeks and it sometime returns to the right position. Don't worry until you have to it may be nothing to do with a slippage. Let us know after you go!!

What did you find out?

I wanted to let you know that I started having bad reflux then a month or so later found out that my band had slipped. I wasn't sure if the reflux caused the band to slip or if my band had already slipped & that was causing my reflux. But I am sure that the 2 were related.

They unfilled my band completely for 5 weeks. Then they did another swallow test on me & it showed my band was right where it ought to be. So then they have started to gradually fill me back up. My doctors are very conservative on fills so it'll probably sometime next spring before I have decent restriction again.

Good luck to you with whatever you found out.

Reflux can, and often is, one of the symptoms of being too tight. And some bandsters just have reflux.....

You haven't had a fill in nearly a year. i was told to see the doc every 6 months after reaching goal because they will check Fluid level to make sure there hasn't been any "evaporation" (using that word for lack of a better choice).

Don't jump to conclusions.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
