A fill 4 weeks out?

Recommended Posts

I was banded on August 12th, and I am getting my first fill September 9th. I thought it was 6 weeks before you could have a fill, did any of you have your first fill 4 wweks out? Not that I'm complaining, I need the restriction....just curious!

Thanks!

I was banded on 8/14 and have my first fill 9/11 so we have the exact same timing in between. I too was worried that I wouldn't be healed all the way, but we'll see!

I also got my first fill at 4 weeks. My second fill was about 3 weeks later, and I have really felt restriction since then.

Mine was also done at 4 weeks, and I had no problems with it.

Had my first fill today, which makes me exactly 4 weeks post-op. Had 4cc's put into an 11cc band. I can go back every week for a fill from here on out until I reach the "sweet spot".

I had my first fill at 4 wks, my surgeon said he would have done it about a week earlier but since I had a hernia repair also, that he didnt want to push it. I now go every 2 wks until I get to my "sweet spot"....which I hope to find with the fill I am getting tomorrow. Good luck on your journey!

I actually had my first fill at just UNDER 4 wks... closer to 3 wks... it all depends on your surgeon... they are all different in how often they will do a fill, when they do the first fill, the post-op diet (liquids-mushy-solids) and how much they put in w/each fill... my surgeon... he is a little conservative w/the fills... 2CC's my first fill, 1 CC my second (but went back and had 1/2 CC taken out) and then yesterday I had my 3rd fill, 1 CC and I have the AP Standard band which holds 10CC's....

I had my first fill yesterday and so far so good. I have heard it may take a couple of days before I notice any restriction, so far I can't tell anything is different. oatmeal for Breakfast and baked potato for lunch...all is well. I had 2 cc's put in a band that will hold 14 cc's.

I had my first fill yesterday--3 1/2 weeks post surgery--2.5 cc's in a 10 cc lap band AP. I haven't felt any restriction yet but I've been on liquids since the fill, tomorrow I can eat musheys, then solid- so maybe I will be able to tell then

I had my first fill at 4 weeks. Banded Aug 13, 2009. It was not painful at all just a weird feeling. I am still hungry a lot. I did liquids for 2 days now mushy food for 2 days. I still don't feel full so I might call the office to ask why. 1.4cc in a 10cc band. I lost 13.8 in the first 4 weeks.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
