Hi all,

Had my first fill last week. I have a Realize band and he put 3 cc's in. My doc is pretty conservative and doesn't want to have to put cc's in only to take them out later. He even said, I may not feel a huge amount of restriction so i'll need to make sure to work had at eating right which I'm fine doing.

I'm jsut curious as to have other people only had 3 cc's ont he first fill and how much more did their doctor add ont he second fill , whcih mine is anotehr 6 weeks away.

Thanks

Thanks Mimi. Im hoping for a little more than 1 cc the next time but we will see. Certainly makes you use the band as a tool and not just a fix all.

My doctor only did 3cc's on my first fill also. I felt more restriction before the fill than now!

All it took for me was 3cc's to be at restriction, everyone is different some take more than others. Trust your doc, it is better to go slow than to be to tight. Best of luck in your journeys!

3ccs is not conservative by Australian standards. I have a 10ml/cc band. First fill 1.5, 2nd 1, 3rd .6. So here it is really slow and steady. the funny thing is that although I have less than 3ml in a 10ml band I am already starting to feel some restriction.

My first fill was 4cc's. That was a little over 4 weeks ago. I went in for my 2nd fill and doc said I didn't need one just yet. I have had really good restriction from that first fill. I don't think I will be able to go a full 8 weeks without a fill (which is what he guessed). I hope 3 does if for you...it's a great feeling to know when you need to stop eating in order to not overeat and watch that scale go down. Best of luck!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
