Is there anything for itching

Recommended Posts

That you recommend asking my dr for? I'm realllly itchy and I can't stop itching. I think I might be alergic to the nausea meds or the glue they put on my incissions they itching got more itchy since two days ago and the itchies are only near my incissions and I have 5. The itchy-est ones are my chest, my two incissions on the right, the other two are fine. The itching is too hard not to. Anybody else have the itching problem? What did you use to relieve the itching?

Thanks by the way

My doctor told me to use a small amount of Witch Hazel. Put some on a cotton ball and dab it on a couple of times a day. It worked for me.

I'm itchy, too. Not crazy itchy, but my boss even asked about it because I was scratching all over my stomach, lmao (she knows about the band).

I am using cold packs and they are very useful. My nurse told me to careful of the creams because they can get in the incisions. She said benadryl wouldn't hurt either.

Hydrocortisone can affect wound healing; I would avoid it unless my doctor okayed it.

OTC oral Benadryl or its generic equivalent is the route I'd take.

theyre not itchy anymore thank god lol

what i did was used a heating pad or a ice pack, which i thought helped, i didnt put any creams or ointments on them, i tried avoiding to itch it but sometimes i just had to, i think they went away by the end of september (:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
