October Bandsters!!come out come out wherever you are

Recommended Posts

All together I have lost 20lbs. I had surgery October 8th but that is also including the time before I was having tests ran before surgery. Remember guys this is not a quick fix this is a tool. You don't want to lose fast because it is much healthier this way 2 or 3 lbs at a time. Pick up the exercise and while eating less we are destined to lose. I am very happy right now and look forward to being alot healthier in the future. At least I am trying now. Good luck to all of you who have had your surgeries and those who are getting ready for surgery. It is a blessing to be able to have this surgery and it gives me hope.

Hi Sherri:

I'm so glad you are doing better!!!! Congratulations on losing another three pounds. My wife was banded on 9/30 and has had two fills so far. She didn't feel any difference after the first and only a little difference now. I was banded on 10/29 and get my first fill next Friday. My surgeon keeps stressing the importance of not starving myself. He said the body goes into starvation mode and it will make losing wait after the fills much harder. Take care and enjoy this dreary day in the northeast. Jim

Yay I get to join the people of already been banded now! As of 10/26/09 (Monday) I was banded! I cant believe the day finally arrived! I'm so sore, but so thankful I chose to take this step in my life! From the pre-op diet, I was already down 18.6lbs total. My goal by christmas is 30lbs total. Anyone think that's too outrageous of a goal? Just curious!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
