Getting Nervous August 18th Date

Recommended Posts

Wow...my surgery is now only two days away. I was not nervous at all until about 10 minutes ago. I am looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life. This is probably the scariest thing that I've ever done. Change is always scary and this is going to be one big change. :)

Yes. It will be a big change but you have a lot to look forward to! I got to clean out my closet the other day for the first time and it felt so good! I had clothes that were swimming on me. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Hi..Just wanted to send you some encouragement and wish you the very best of luck. I do not have my date so I can only imagine how you feel..BUT..after reading WLS for Dummies the other day, I got nervous and really wondered (for a split second) if this was the right thing for me to do. It passed, as yours will, so stay focused on your new chapter in life. Good luck. I look foward to your reading your posts after surgery.

Okay so tomorrow is my surgery. Today I am on full liquids and I had to drink a 10oz bottle of Magnesium Citrate. Only the label it said "Pleasing Lemony Flavor". There is nothing pleasing about the way that stuff tastes. YUCK! lol But I got it down. It took me an hour but I did it.

I'm getting excited. I just want to hurry up and get the surgery part over with so these butterflies will go away. ;) lol

I was the same way. Try to keep yourself busy today and try not think about it. The next thing you know you'll be out of surgery walking around. I still think I'm dreaming sometimes because it went so fast. Keep us posted on your progress. Good Luck!

Get a good rest tonight and best wishes. You are on the right track to a new and positive change. It's been almost a year for me and 65 lbs less, the only regret I have is that I didn't do it sooner. Enjoy and take it easy after the surgery.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
