OliverDog, Congrats and welcome to the other side. I can't imagine having to travel that far immediately after surgery. Glad ou are home safe and getting some rest now. I am feeling better today. I am 4 days out of surgery and going back to work tomorrow. Yesterday had terrible pain in my shoulder area...but seems to be better today.

I'm still burpy...are the rest of you out there? seems like no matter how small a sip i take, it creates a painful pressure burp...and another question for you bandsters out there...how long after surgery did you get to poo?

:cursing:

Good luck all of you!

Hi Nooshie, I've been - too much information!! LOL, we had an xray the next day to make sure everything was as it should be and they warned us the drink they gave us would make us go, which it did (took me four days), sorry everyone!! I have some wind so I have been taking windeze whilst I am at home, but back to work tomorrow so better not take it then......... Hope this helps? Feeling much much better now, but still not quite 100% but feel better by the hour which is great x

Oliverdog -- So sorry. : ) I know it's TMI. But I wanted to share with all of you that I found a good remedy. Someone on one of the other threads shared a juice that she called "human drano". : ) Sunsweet Plum Smart Light. Only 60 calories, it's not thick like prune juice, has probiotic fiber...and did the trick! I'm a happy camper. :cursing:

Realized I never added myself to the list and my surgery was on Oct 1st.

The list has now grown to 47 of us with Oct surgeries. Quite impressive.

I was banded yesterday 10-19-09. It was not as hard as doing the med-fast diet for 2 weeks before the surgery.

Hi everyone! I made it 6 days post-op. It seems like this is such a different process for each of us. My scars are healing very quickly and pain-free. I had no problems with eating, drinking, going to the bathroom at all. The only thing that was very hard, was the post-op gas pain. It did not reach my showlders, but it stayed in the belly area and the sides. That was much more painful than I could ever imagine. However, it seems like this is not a problem for most people. I have been able to drink the amounts of Protein supplements and liquids that they want me to drink. Hunger comes and goes, not too much of a problem.

I am glad I did it. So far, I've lost 8 pounds in 6 days. If anyone would like to ask me a question, please feel free to send me a private message.

Good luck to all!!!!

I'm 2 days out and I have the same gas problems that you do, belly and sides. I have been doing the puree food (taking my own and making baby food out of it) It hasn't been too bad except for the diet coke I can't have. I still have not had a bowel movement but I will take something tonight if nothing happens. What are you eating and drinking??

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
