I am on day 9 of my preop diet and my surgery is a week from today. I have never wanted a Peanut Butter and jelly sandwhich more than right now. I just want some carbs!!! And it's my birthday and I can't even have a piece of cake.

I just wanted to vent a little. Thanks for listening. :smile2:

Happy Birthday to You!!

Hang in there! Sticking to the pre-op is important. I admire someone who'd schedule it during b'day time. Me, I'd sell my soul for b'day cake, with lots of roses. And lots of calories.

Good luck to you!!!

I'm sorry that this birthday is such a bummer for you! I know how I'd feel if I had to go through the liquid hell on my special day.

But just think how skinny minny you will be on your day next year! Remember nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!

Thanks for all your support guys!! I got through it ( I took a shower instead of making a PB&J).

Graywolf, I love the "Remember nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!" Haha, so true!!

It looks like I shouldn't be complaining now. After reading some of the other posts in the forum, looks like the hard part is afterwards!

Hi Sarah, my little band-twin!

I am so hearing you babe... I am at the end of day 8, and I swear to GOD all I could see in my head all day was a cartoon picture of a piece of steak dancing around saying "I am delicious! eat me! eat me!" ... I am SO over having no meat, no carbs, no starches, no sugar, etc etc... for gods sake, someone feed me PLEASE.

Okay, now that I've gotten that rant out... yes... we must just stick together, remain focused, our special day will be here in no time. We can do it, Sarah!

Happy birthday to you :-D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
