I am 3 weeks post op and I am suppose to be getting on to soft foods now. I am having a lot of trouble with getting foods down.In fact I am having food and liquid intolerances. I definetly can't drink any Protein Shakes yet. I am still mashing up all of my food or I am trying to eat very soft food.I am still experiencing nausea and sometimes vomiting. Today in fact I was sick twice and also yesterday once in the car. Also 2 of my incisions are infected. Even the day of surgery I was very sick and in a lot of pain. The Dr had to see me in his office that night to remove some of the saline that was placed in my band during surgery. He said I would feel a lot better, but as soon as I got back home I was vomiting again and gut wrenching till the next day.I would like to know if there is anyone else out there having these same problems?:scared2:

I am not having those problems... i've only been banded for a day now. It sounds like ur band is still too tight if you can't keep fluids down. It may also be because of the infections. Call your Dr. asap and update him, this would be my suggestion. Good luck

You need to contact your doctor about this.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
