Anyone have the Realize Band?

Recommended Posts

My surgeon uses the Realize Band - says it is less painful and faster to heal. Anyone have any experience positive or negative with the Realize.

Scheduled for Surgery on 8/18

I had surgery on 7/7/09 and I had the realize band. I think I have a low pain tolerance, because I ended up being off work for 2 weeks versus the recommended 3-5 days I anticipated. I can feel my port under my skin, it is still a tiny bit sore if I move a certain way and is directly at my waist line?!?!? sorta wierd in my opinion. Overall I feel like I had a good experience, some trouble tolerating all this milk based Protein, but not bad if I do it slowly and watch portions.

I was banded on 7/21 with the realize band. It also took me two weeks to get back to normal. I did return to work after 5 days but was very tired and sore and only worked half days. All in all my experience has been good. Still have some pain at port site but that is to be expected.

I have had the Realize band since May 18 and I have no complaints. I feel slight restriction although I haven't had a fill yet and I've lost close to 35 lbs. I did flip my port and I'm not getting it repaired until Sept 4, but I think that is my fault because I was so excited and I started going back to the gym and working out 2 weeks after surgery. After my repair, I'll wait longer to work out again.

I have realize band and was banded on 6/30. I have no problems from it and my doc said it takes 15minutes less for him to put it in vesus lapband.

I had my 13cc band put in June 5th, and I am very happy with it, no complications so far that have been the bands fault!! My port sight is still slightly tender, but due to the fact that I have to sit in uniform pants for 12hrs a day without much get up and out time...I think you will be very happy!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
