I was doing c25k, but I really think I may skip the running and do arm and back exercises between now and Jan. (Any ideas on how to rid back fat spillage?)

I'm in...but I didn't do crap today.

Not really starting off right, but plan on going tomorrow.

I'm in too - still training for the marathon - but I have to kick it into gear more (work on speed this month - not as much distance) but I also need to add some more variety - shake it up some.

I want to lose 25-30 lbs by february - need to work on my caloric intake but mostly my output!

I'm very excited about this, I'm 5 miles in so far.... I usually start off strong and slack off towards the end of the month but hopefully the challenge of 10 extra miles will keep me going strong all month!! I also think that monthly goals are important, I also have a weight loss goal of 10lbs a month for the rest of 2009.

Going to Mexico in December and really want to be 245lbs.

Ok so there are 2 threads that are close in name and I just realized that I have been posting on the incorrect one... Not that that's bad but the August 2009 mile challenge is a continued monthly challenge and so in order to not confuse myself I am going to unsubscribe to this one... Of course you are all welcome to join the mil challenge thread.

Oh ann Luluc, I sent you a private message!

Wow! If I was less humble, or even narcissistic, I would assume that these exercise challenge threads just don't go anywhere w/o my adding to them based on this months thread.

Well, fear not, I'm still around and exercising. Just haven't felt much like being social, even on the internet. But, I am back and will start posting again on what I'm doing.

This morning I was able to run for the first time since dr. told me to lay off for a month after taking a line drive off the instep in softball. I only waited 2 1/2 wks. Shhhhh, don't tell the doc. Tonight will be chest workout. Still going heavy on the lifting. Since I started this routine, my bench weight has gone from doing 245 for 3 sets of 4-6 reps to 285-290 for 3 sets of 4-6 reps. I LIKE IT!!!!!

We'll see how the foot feels after todays little run tomorrow and may try a little mor.

Hey Everyone!

Still hanging in there with the c25k program - am now running 75% of my normal walk route and will extend the route this week or next to keep my duration constant. I am loving the 'wog' program...

Continuing to walk on days I don't 'wog' - about a mile to and from my office every day (unless it's storming) plus my lunchtime walk. We just went back to normal hours, so with my 1 hour lunch restored, I started walking my longer lunchtime route and the 'big hill' again today. Though it's 83 and feels like 87 outside (weather.com), I still feel great after walking. I KNOW I've gotten stronger and my heart rate has been really good - I'm thrilled!

There is definately a road race or two in my future...

Last night did not go well. I was able to muscle my way through 3 sets of 4 reps @ 285 on bench. After that, too much pain in left forearm to continue.:w00t:

Today, I ran another 2 miles. I'll try legs tonight.

Afternoon All!

Heading out for my lunchtime walk - I'm plenty hydrated, so I should be just fine on this hot and sunny summer day. No run this morning - couldn't pull my dragging butt out of bed, but will make it up tomorrow.

Hope all have a wonderful day!:w00t:

I want in. I'm a treadmill walker. 4 miles per day (2 in a.m. and 2 in p.m.). Is there a certain criteria to be met?

Is there a certain criteria to be met?

i have been spinning 3X a wk & doing the stairmaster much more for cardio ..... LOTS of lower body weight training, waiting & wishing it would catch up to the upper arms/abs:)

I would say that a certain NY Gnats QB does the same thing, but even you have bigger legs than he does.:(

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
