Has anyone tried a colon cleanse product with the band?

Recommended Posts

I started a 7 day colon cleanse tablet 4 days ago and yesterday I couldn't keep any food or liquid down. I feel like I have a rock in my stomach. This is still going on today. I have a call in to the doctor but haven't heard back yet. Anyone have this problem before???:)

I'm glad you called your doc; because if you hadn't done it I'd say ASK your doc. I know the medical community is divided on his issue but most feel the flora and fauna in our gut is there for a reason. Just like you become more susceptible to yeast infections after taking certain antibiotics (because they kill off your good germs that keeps the yeast from flourishing) in the same way many think colon cleanses do more harm than good. lots of that icky stuff you see coming out is our traumatized intestinal lining, not bad things you need to get rid of.

Sorry didn't mean to soap box...but if you are feeling issues check with your surgeon or primary. Don't just get a cleanse from a health food store or drugstore and take it.

I hope your doc calls you back soon and can give you a quick easy fix! Even with my soap box I'm really sorry it didn't work for you like you thought it would.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
