miserable. please help me?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I've lost all hope.

I went for my 3rd fill today [3rd, if you count the last time I had to go back because I got so sick] and once again, not feeling well AT ALL.

When the Dr. sends me out to the waiting room to sip Water, I feel some kind of resistance no matter what. Its always a struggle to get the water down, whether I'm filled comfortably or really uncomfortably.. so I honestly have no idea if I'm supposed to suck it up or go back in to get some taken out.... or just wait it out?

Last time, I lost nearly 7 pounds in 3 days because I couldn't eat or drink and I had to wait to get an appointment. [i think it was because of the weekend?]. I lost all that weight and EXPLAINED I could not swallow water and it seemed like no one believed me. Today I was asked if it was really because I couldn't tolerate anything OR was I upset that I "couldn't eat my favorite foods".

Are you kidding me? That is why I'm hesistant to go back.

I'm so nauseous, since 10am I've thrown up about 9 times. Since I've typed this, make that another 2.

I can't keep anything down. No water, broth, clear ices. frown.gif I'm STARVING. Anytime I try to eat/drink anything, this weird noise comes from me as the food tries to go down.

I have no idea what to do. I'm up to 4 cc's again. I was at 3.5 before and that was giving me little to no restriction. I don't even think my doc is around tomorrow.

I would demand you get an endoscopy from your doctor immediately. Throwing up all the time and not even being about to swallow Water is a direct sign of a slip. You need to have your band checked immediately.

Normally, I wouldn't say ask for fluroscopy BUT I think that they need to do an unfill, put you on the fluroscope and have you drink as they fill so that they don't get you too tight but get you tight enough.

I'm at really good restriction and if I take a big swallow of liquid or drink too fast, that's uncomfortable BUT I do not throw up and you shouldn't be either. The band is not supposed to make you miserable. I think your doctor's office sounds like it is staffed by a bunch of heartless, rude people and I'd stand up to them. Maybe you could throw up on demand, right on the counter, LOL. Maybe THAT would get their attention.

You need to go back to the dr office and demand for a unfill.

YES!!! ONLY YOU know exactly what your body is telling you. Go to the ER and have your dr paged don't even go to the office. You may be dehydrated! Don't go another day without getting care. Throwing up is BAD NEWS!!

My surgeon's office has said a zillion times - if you're throwing up, you have a medical emergency and we want to hear from you right away.

Call your doctor and let them know right away. If they are not hearing you, go to the ER.

I agree with Enchanted and Foxxy - get to the ER right away. You are jeopardizing your health with all the vomiting and possible dehydration. And find another doctor - this one obviously does not provide good follow up care. That's why I found a new doctor 3 months ago. Your doctor should believe you when you call with symptoms. Good luck.

I also agree with enchanted. What you are going through is not right. My doc fills under fluroscopy while I drink the barium and Water. If I were you I would find a new doc.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
