Should you only eat when you get hungry?

Recommended Posts

Oh how I wish I wasnt hungry. I am up to 4 fills and still hungry. However I am scared to get any more fills as last time I couldnt eat anything solid for nearly 2 weeks without vomiting. That has lessened now but I really thought I would have felt restriction by now. Funnything too is in the morning and lunch I seem to be able to eat very little without pb(no matter how much I chew) and have to stop not because i feel full rather i dont want to vomit anymore. However when dinner time comes round I can eat pretty large amounts (normal sized dinner with plenty of room for more and hungry with it. I try to just have lo cal liquids to fill up or if really cant take it a plate of vegetables or some fruit) Needless to say weightloss is not really happening although at least I am not gaining. What worries me is the constant pbs. I am worried that it may damage my osephegus or worse!

W/me work and school schedule, 3 meals a day doesn't work for me. So, I've broken it in 5 to 6 small meals/healthy Snacks a day. By healthy snack, I mean 1 light mozzarella string cheese stick w/a small can (30 calories) of low-sodium v-8 juice.

Sometimes I'm not hungry, so I don't eat. But I listen to my body. There are times I won't feel hungry, but I'll get headaches and/or feel shaky. In those cases I'll grab a small snack.

Listen to your body. If you don't feel hungry and you don't feel any effects from not eating, then don't eat. However, if you don't feel hungry, but feel physical effects of being hungry (headaches, shaky) then just grab a small snack, not a full meal.

I eat when I'm hungry and don't eat when I'm not for the most part. The only time I force myself to eat is right before I work out because I know I'll need the energy.

I've gone whole days only having a cup of coffee in the morning and maybe a burger in the evening, and other days when I know I ate too much. IMO your body will tell you if it needs food.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
