Getting banded on Tuesday

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site, it really seems to be helpful. I am getting banded on Tuesday , July 14th, I tried for 3 years to get approved and finally switched hospitals and doctors and was approved within a month. go figure! I have cheated like crazy on the pre-op diet the last couple of days but still managed to lose about 7 lbs. Is that about normal? I would appreciate any advice anyone could give me about the day of and couple of days post op. Have a blessed evening, :)

Hmmm, well the pre op diet is not just about losing weight it's about shrinking the liver so by not following the diet as prescribed may mean that your liver is still enlarged. You should call your surgeon and tell him and he might want to reschedule you in a couple weeks after you have followed the pre op diet as it was written. There is a bandster on this board that went on her own pre op plan lost alot of weight only to wake up from surgery without a band, her liver was still too enlarged.

This needs to be taken seriously and so does the post op diet. Good luck!
