Just thought you guys would like to hear about this. OK, I weighed myself Monday morning. I had posted a few days ago about being in a rut and not losing anything for the past few weeks.

I got my hair cut off yesterday evening (man, I tell you, I haven't had it this short since I was in high school). I get up this morning and the thought run through my mind wondering if I had lost anything since I got my hair cut. So, I step back on the scales and believe it or not, I had lost 2 1/2 pounds. I couldnt do anything but laugh about that. I don't know, to me I found it a little bit funny.

Wouldn't it be nice if losing weight was as simple as having your hair cut off? I called my cousin (she was the one that cut it) and told her about it. She laughed at me and then ask if I wanted her to come back up to the house and me go for the bald look...lol.

Just thought maybe this little short story could be a pick me up for some of you out there.

LOL, cute story..My hair is long, but it took my 10 years to get it long, so I'll keep those few extra pounds to keep my hair. But I highly doubt mine weighs much, as it thin...Kinda like how I am becoming, yeah!

My son has a friend who, every time he comes over, heads for our ensuite (as for the longest time, the door on the toilet wouldnt close properly) and weighs himself, has a dump and weighs himself again. He loses 2lb every time!

I've been tempted to try it, but since I've been banded, less goes in and so inevitably, less comes out..... I dont think the loss would be that impressive, lol.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
