Need Some Help

Recommended Posts

:crying:I was banded in 2005 had the band removed in 2008 due to a problem with the fills and then a few months later had another band put in. At that point i had a bunch of complications, had to have the port removed. I now have a port and had a fill about 4 weeks ago. My problem is that I seem to have forgotten the basicis. I have pretty good restriction, cannot seem to get my head to follow my stomach. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Therapy? You do KNOW the basics, right? Only you know why you aren't using the tool you've worked so hard to get and keep. That's why I was wondering if therapy would help you? Otherwise just tell yourself you'll follow the rules for just ONE day. Then see if you can stretch it to two, etc...or, do what worked for you before.

Our lives change and sometimes things are easier than others, but you know this is do-able...you know it works if you work it. You have to find the answers within why you won't "work" it this time...

I have been reading the posts here, I think I need to get back to basics, I have apparently forgotten the rules. I am working on the basics, maybe the 5 day pouch test. I am struggling with the head hunger but have been pretty successful trying to keep busy.

I know what you are talking about. I's been just over a year for me with the band. I like what it has done so far. I haven't been at this weight for over 20 years and kept it from returning. That's not to say I don't have lots more to go.

I to, have a problem with what my stomach needs to be full and what my HEAD thinks I need. I also have done a few days of liquids only. I did think that it helped. I thought I had stretched my pouch. I just have to remember Protein first then other foods. But not more than 1 cup total. (that's really hard sometimes but not always) Good luck to you.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
