Finding A Doctor in Texas

Recommended Posts

I am on Medicare and it seems that doctors in Dallas are no longer taking Medicare because they are not getting paid. I was scheduled with Dr Benivedes and as of Sept 1st he will no longer take Medicare. I have a psyc eval tomorrow and no doctor. Any help would be great as I am very frustrated. Thanks!

Thanks. I also posted in the Texas section but I thought some people may not read all sections. Just trying to cover my bases.

If you are willing to come to Houston, I used Dr. Spivak and I think they are awesome. Not sure if they take medicare but below is the link about him and his practice and phone numbers. Wouldn't hurt to give them a call!

Try Dr. James Davidson at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He did my surgery in Feb, and has a great staff. I am not sure if he takes Medicare, but it is worth a shot. His web site is www.bscdallas.com and their # is 214-696-2890. Hope this helps.

Go to www.inamed.com and do doctor finder search, they will email you a list of all the Inamed approved doctors in your area. That can be very helpful ~Mandy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
