I could really use some support....

Recommended Posts

I was banded in June, 2007. The first 6-8 months went great, and I lost about 40 lbs. Then the trouble began...I was too tight at one point...and could never get the right groove back. Even completely unfilled, I still have occassional pb'ing. Last year I had 4 upper GI's, but no reason for what was going on. I havent been back to my Dr since last Nov, due to frustration. I've gained 36 lbs back, and yesterday got a certified letter from the doctor strongly suggesting I need updated lab work and a check up. So...ok, it's time to go back, and get back on the band wagon so to speak. Has anyone had anything similar happen? Occassionally I think about a bypass, but then I read the complications and instantly realize that isnt what I want. Can anyone give me some suggestions to get me back on track....? I sure could use a shoulder to lean on..

I'm sorry that things are going like this for you! Here are what I would do.

1. get a fill

2. follow all lapband rules

3. Exercise

4. track what i'm eating

5. make sure eating enough Protein, getting Vitamins, etc

Stay positive, things will turn around. Keep us updated! Good luck!

I was banded 10/07, and the same with you I lost about 40 then I was to tight and let it go for a year, then I just went back last month got a fill, and feel much better, and back on track, so go get the fill and start again it will be worth it!

Don't beat yourself up about what has happened, you can't change the past. Each day give us an opportunity to start fresh. Go back to the doctors and get a fill and start from scratch. You already know you can do it, you proved it by losing the 40lbs. Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
