Hi, Melissa, and so happy to see that you are on this journey!

Re: Will power, is it possible that you need a fill?

When you say you were banded on 1/6/09 do you mean June 1 or January 6? (I surely hope you mean June 1 if you are still on liquid.)

As for the will power, one of the cutest quotes I've seen on here is something like "My will power is fine; it's my won't power that needs help."

I understand how tempting it must be to eat while still on liquids. I will have to do a preop liquid diet, so I did a trial run the other day, and I thought I would die!

Good luck on your journey! If you were strong enough to do all the things required before surgery, you are certainly strong enough to do well now! You can do it!!!:cursing:

Melissa is an Australian so I am sure she means 1 June,

Hi Melissa I am in the same boat as you. I was banded 2/6(June) by Dr Nottle. I am still in the liquid stage and yes it can be hard to prepare food but it is important to remember that the rules are there to enable you to heal.Try to avaoid cooking as much as possible. Can your partner cook? If not make lots of something so that the next day they can have left overs(less time spent cooking). Cook something you don't like. Make sure you're not hungry when you cook so maybe have your"meal" first etc.

My DH baked chocolate honeycomb muffins on Monday. They smelt divine and I could have quite happilly killed him. If I can survive that i am sure you can too.

Not much longer and then you'll be onto mushies.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
