Hey all, I really need some advice. I had my first and only fill on may 6th and now 3 weeks later I feel very tight and uncomfortable. It had been about 4 days feeling this week. Is it common to have a delayed reaction like this? I had been feeling wonderful before hand. I am also extreamly constipated (tmi I know, but trying to figure this out), could the Constipation be making me feel tight? please any any all thoughts and advice is MUCH appreciated.

thanks in advance,

amy

It takes me about 2-3 weeks to feel the effects of my fills. And once i was too tight and had a slight unfill. That could be happening to you too. call your doctor as a precaution. Are you getting stuck??

not so much stuck, I just can feel everything going down and then it just sits there for a while. It is very uncomfortable. even liquid just sits for a bit. grrrrrr very annoying!!

I had my first fill 5 weeks ago, and also felt it "take hold" at about 3 weeks. I have to be sure I chew (something I really have to work on) well. I also have to watch and for signs of being satisfied and am finding that the amount I can eat at one meal, may be too much the next meal (varying by a couple of ounces). If you are having any questions you should talk with your doctor's office and see what they suggest.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
