Sticking together

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow banditos.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the support and respect that we are all giving to each other and I pray we stay that way.

Take a peek at this, you'll need to read the whole thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f178/ate-something-not-approved-94793/

The LBT moderators have stepped in on this thread, so a lot of the rudness has been deleted.

You are absolutely right, and I also want to thank everyone for the support. I don't know what I would have done without this site. As far as that post you copied, that was crazy. I have to say I have been very lucky to not have a lot of pain and everything went really well. I would never even think about cheating in any way on my diet. I have followed it to a T. I couldn't even imagine eating something I wasn't suppose to and being miserable and in pain because of it. I'm not trying to brag but I have been super awesome on my diet and have done super so far. On my surgery date May 8th I weighed in at 570, at my post op appointment May 20th I weighed in at 529. That's 40 lbs in 13 days and that is crazy. My doctor was very surprised and new that I followed everything by the book. Well anyway good luck to everyone and hope to hear that everyone is doing good and remember just stay positive and remember its all worth it in the end.

Amen to all the above! I feel super blessed to have y'all to go through this with. Even when Cyndi asked for a kick in the butt, everyone was sensitive and helpful about it. There's a way to support and help each other with respect and without beating them down. I'm so proud to be a part of this fabulous group.

Here's to the mayo Banditos!

Congrats to all of us for our awesomeness:biggrin:. keep up the great work.

I agree 100%, Ya'll are awesome. and I couldn't thank everyone enough for just letting each and everyone of us Vent, even if it is the grossest things in the world, we're all going through this journey together, and we are the only ones that know what each other is going through, I sure hope we don't die out like some of the other groups on here have **AHEM THE BROOKLYN GROUP*** and You know what, we should make a goal, on our 3 year anniversaries being banded, to somehow meet up somewhere and have a margarita!!!!!!!

VIVA LOS BANDIDOS!!!!

I agree- thank you all the mayo Banditos for your support! The last thing we all need to be doing is turning on each other- making the decision to undergo surgery in order to change your eating habits forever is not one that we have all taken lightly.

On the other hand- nor is a lapband a magic wand. It took years of bad habits to get myself into this pickle, and I expect it to take years of GOOD habits to get myself out of it!

And I agree, in a year or two we should totally have a meet up- given our name, it needs to be somewhere Tex-Mex-y! Cruise? (Hey- we can all stand around the buffet and NOT eat!)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
