I can hardly eat in the morning but can eat anything after 2pm! what gives?

Recommended Posts

So i have a 3cc in my 4cc band and I can eat a very small Breakfast but come lunch or dinner I can eat much more. Also I notice that I can from time to time get stuck on certain foods like dry chicken or lettuce but as soon as it goes down I am hungry again. So do I need another fill? Is this normal? Has this happend to you and if so what did you do about it? Dinnertime has always been my weakness so I think I would have to tight during the evening for this to work for me.

This is the fickleness of the band. Many people are tight in the morning and need to wait until afternoon/evening to eat. In the morning try warm drinks prior to eating.

As far as the evening goes and another fill, I would talk to your surgeon. Keep a diary of what you eat and when so they can get a clear picture. You don't want to get too tight. This could become a morning problem if you get a fill to make you feel tighter in the afternoon. Call them and talk to them.

I was always this way in the beginning. The band worked in the mornings, but by late afternoon, I could eat anything. I used self control at that point. It worked, because I made it work, until my last fill. Now the evening is much more band controlled, but I do have less tolerance in the morning. I like it that way, but that is just me.

Oh, and I don't eat dry chicken, salmon, or any dry meat. It is just too inconsistent. Make it consistent, with some kind of sauce if it is leftover, but don't torture yourself.

I'm so glad you posted this. I'm the same way. I've been relying on willpower too. I'll be so glad when I finally get real restriction.

yup i think it means we need more of a fill and to eat slower and chew well so we dont get stuck. I want real restriction and wont stop till i get it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
