Question for You Sleevers

It's just downright weird. WasA keeps telling me not to question why things are going so well, but I would really like to feel full and not watch the clock so I can have something else.

Daisy, when did you feel full on Clear liquids with your banding post op diet?

When did you EVER feel full on Clear Liquids?

I know, but Susan and Elizabeth said they felt like they had to force liquids. I feel like I have to force myself to wait.

I have to leave my Water in the kitchen instead of next to me or I would drink a 20 oz bottle in nothing flat.

I was only on clears for 24 hours with the band surgery.

Then full for 4 weeks. That was easier.

Everyone is different. Also, I had a filled band up until the day before surgery. I also suffered from daily heart burn and acid reflux. Susan was barfing food and had her band unfilled @ 3 weeks before surgery.

I believe you had an unfilled band for quite some time and really had no major problems with the band. How much weight do you need to lose to get to goal? Given the choice, I would have LOVED to be able to down fluids the way you can. I NEVER had restriction with the band so maybe that is a factor also.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
