First off congrats on being banded I hope everything goes well for you. I know you are wondering abour complications and time off work, but before anyone answers you need to know that each and every person is different. I have read about people who go back to work the next day, where as I did not go back to work for 2 weeks. It all depends. I was in extreme pain but I have physical job so I could not do it. I had only expected to be out for 6 days but , I absolutely could not go back that early. As far as fills go I have had 3 fills since my surgery, the first in jan, the second in feb, and the third in march, about every 6 weeks. right now I am good where I am as far as a fill but will probably be going to get one sometime in may. I hope I helped a bit, and congrats.

I had surgery on 2/10 and went back to work on 2/13. I'm a legal assistant and sit most of the time. Yes, I was ready to go home at the end of the day but it wasn't terribly hard on me by any means. My first fill was at 4 weeks out. Second was 3 weeks after that and my next one is next week, 4 weeks after #2. Fill visits are short! If you work near your doctor's office, you could probably schedule fills on your lunch hour.

I was banded last Friday and took off 7 days of work. I am glad I had this week off cause being on liquids you feel very tired and have limited energy. I feel I'm healing well and though I don't WANT to go back to work, I know I'll be ok once I'm there on Monday.

I was banded April 10th and returned April 14th, very sore. I worked 5 - 7 hours for the rest of the week, instead of the normal 11 hours, gotta love management! I have a desk job, nothing physical. Hope that helps. Good luck

I expected to have my energy back but feel really tired. What are your thoughts? lack of Protein or normal.... feel like I should have gone back half days, just started the puree stage

I think you are feeling tired because it does take the body quite a bit of time to recover from something like this. The dov yold me it takes a good 4-6 weeks to feel normal again. Its probably because you are back to work this week. Hope you feel better soon.

i took 2 weeks off of work after my band. i was tempted to take just a week but i'm a nurse and there's some lifting involved at times. you should be ok with a week as your job's isn't very physical. but if for whatever reason you don't feel up to it don't hesitate to ask your doc for an extension. i felt pretty good but i was so tired the 1st couple weeks back! just take it easy and you should be good. and good luck on your surgery!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
