Anyone had their band to get really tight 8 weeks after a fill ?

Recommended Posts

I was banded in March of 08. I've never had any trouble with the band or trouble eating. My last fill was February 23rd. As of this Monday, April 20, I'm having trouble eating or drinking. No trouble at all up until this point. When I drink I can "feel" it going down and it most of the time feels weird going down. Kinda like the Water is getting hung up but eventually goes down. I can only eat mushy things and not much of it at all. I'm not hungry. I wasn't like this before Monday. I could eat just about anything I wanted as long as I followed the "bandster" rules. It just concerns me about getting the water down and it feeling uncomfortable. But once it passes, I'm fine...no uncomfortable feeling.

One confession is I did get sick three times in a row Monday morning. I'm hoping that didn't slip the band or something. I got sick becuase some new medications turned my stomach and made me nauseous.

SSH, sounds like me. I was banded Jan 08, My last fill was feb 24, until this fill I felt My portions were too large. so he gave me 1.0 cc that brought my total to 9cc in a 10cc band. I was good for about 3 weeks, and since then I feel like I am getting tighter and tighter. My coffee in the morning gurgles as it goes down. Prior to that fill I was having Protein Shake at 6 am eating a tofu wrap at 7am . now just a shake at 6a m and yogurt and Cereal at 8:30 am. I am still tight at lunch. I really have to push my Water. My next appt I may have him unfill a tad - .25 cc, that should work fine. I have lost only 4 lbs since feb fill. I am about 10 lbs from goal, so it is evern harder to lose. But I do think I am just too tight. I think my body cycles are adding to the tightness as well. I have 2 more weeks before I go back, so I know I have to chew, chew, chew. But I have now added a 4th meal, just ot get veggies and all Protein in. Pb a little more often, no vomiting though, so this tells me I need to slow down a little more, use my timer to eat 30 min no more. Good luck. This is where I should be, but old habits still die hard. Mostly mental now.

its perhaps not the band , more something youve eaten maybe causing some slight inflamation and whats causing your problems , like said perhaps mushies or liquids only to give stomach a little break may be of help.

Im a new bandee so dont talk from much experience , but did have issues early days which sounded similar and the result was from inflamation following my getting my medication stuck

hope all goes well , maybe best to give your doctor a call for some re assurance.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
