I am having my first social outing since banding on 1st May. It is a murder mystery evening and we all need to take our own food. I am on mushies. Nobody there will know I have been banded. Any suggestions for my take along food?

Thank you

try bringing a bean dip that you can eat.. it's going to be tough .. my suggestion is bring something for everyone to eat and make yourself a little side for you.. example bring a tuna macoroni salad and bring a little container of just tuna salad no macaroni for you and say you are staying away from carbs..

:/ I hope that helps .. lol

Just because you are on mushy food doesn't mean you can't have elegant, yummy stuff. I suggest things like lobster bisque, spinach artichoke dip made with low fat cheese and baked whole wheat crackers or whole wheat pita chips. fresh fruit. Walden Farms makes a chocolate sauce that has NO CALORIES,...yeah, you read that right. I buy it at Kroger where all the ice cream toppings are. It's a great dipping sauce for fruit and nobody who has tasted it knew that it was NO CALORIES.

How about a nice piece of salmon and some mashed potatoes? If you need to bring something for the group, the bean dip sounded good -- or you could bring hummus! I don't think crackers are OK during mushies (they were not for me), so I'd steer clear of eating them.

If there is a freezer available where they are having the event, you can bring some frozen yogurt for dessert -- yum!

I was totally going to say 7 layer bean dip. Refried Beans, sour cream, gauco, salsa, black olives, chives, and shredded cheese. I made this for a party when I was post-op about 3 weeks. Its simple and yummy! Take a bag of Fritos for those who can eat them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
