70 Stubborn Pounds

Recommended Posts

I too am looking to lose about 70 lbs. I want this so badly! I have my mind made up I just don't know the who, what, when, where...etc. I am in Texarkana, TX and my insurance is through Wal-Mart and they won't cover. I need all the finance info I can get...my husband is Mr. Anti-credit himself and likes to pay CASH for everything. Needless to say, I don't have that kind of cash sitting around. I have to convince him that I have 70 to lose now and at this rate I don't see it coming off any other way! I am 5'1, 192 lbs, 42 and have recently returned to college to get a degree in education. If I don't get this weight off I won't be in good enough physical condition to teach when I graduate! I AM READY TO DO THIS!! Keep the encouragement coming...ya'll do a grat job on LBT!!!

Like Jack said, why not do something with the first 70 lbs before there's ANOTHER 70 lbs to deal with.

I'll tell you honestly, when I was first banded, 'lightweights' used to bother me. Then I got overmyself and realized that when I had 'only' 70 lbs to lose if someone had said "you can get this and stop gaining weight and start losing weight" I would have jumped for it! Why gain more if you don't have to right?

I'm crawling up on my halfway point, which will be 70lbs lost, and no way would I want to stop there. :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
