Icees are carbonated? Whoops!

Recommended Posts

I had no idea icees were carbonated! I splurged and had one the other day and today. My husband asked me today, "aren't those carbonated?" I was totally bummed when I looked it up online and found out they were! Whoops! No more icees for me! I'm guessing my band is ok...I didn't have any discomfort or anything but now I know!

Yep they are carbonated. My son loves icees like crazy and he got braces about 3 years ago and the dentist told him no icees. That was a rough 2 years for him. I wonder about the frozen ones they sell at the grocery store those should be ok as mushies right?

7-11 has slurpees that are not carbonated- the cherry ones are not and neither are the crystal light ones.

I dont remember ever seeing a 7-11 in this part of the country. However, I did try a crystal lite slurpy at a 7-11 in southern California . . . it tasted almost too good to be true. I know if I had them available here, I would have been having them regularly.

Carbonated and pure sugar.

Great for the sweet tooth, not so great for the caloric intake.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
