 Did anyone else get a date and then have second thoughts? My wife and I are scheduled for the lapband on April 26th. I think that i'm just scared because I have never had any surgery before. My wife has no doubts. I need to lose the weight, no doubt about it. I know that I will be healthier and happier. I don't need any more health problems and I want a better quallity of life. I guess that i'm looking for support. Thanks!:cool2:

Hi

I was banded in oct also was my first surgery the surgery itself you get to sleep through :cool2:

Yeah I was scared but it is worth it If it helps you achieve the goal. I think the hard part comes after truelly learning how to eat better and make the band work for you.

Good Luck

Congratulations to you both! On Tuesday of this week I received my surgery date: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15TH!! So, it is three days away and I am truly excited for it to come. It is definitely a life-altering decision, but one which I am certain you both have considered seriously, so any nervousness is just natural. I hope that you both will just enjoy the journey together. And, with the rest of us as well.

Hello,

I had not had surgery since I was a child and had my tonsils out. I was scared to death to go in for this surgery. I tried to find things to take my mind off it. The night before, I stayed up late playing a video game. When they came to my hospital room to get me, I was so nervous they had to give me something for my nerves.

I think some of that is normal.

Hang in there, bro.

Thank you all for your support. I know I can do it. Just a bad case of my nerves.

Hi there,

Congratulations on your surgery dates.

In case you're interested there's a forum for all of us banded or being banded in April, and who may be going through similar experiences, HERE. Also, I've added your name and Jazzy4Health's name to the list of April bandits HERE.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
