Yes. You should tell your surgeon. In fact, we (my surgeon's patients) weren't to have ANY Protein during week one. It is dangerous to eat "food" (no matter how thinned) early. Please call your doc, tell him/her what you've done so he can decide if you're probably ok or no, and take his direction. Don't feel bad; we all get hungry (or we wouldn't be here!) but you must follow the post op insttructions to ensure healing etc. (and guess what, most of us don't like the broth and Protein Shakes either. It's just for a short while! )

I have not been banded yet but I do think it's to early to eat those things. My PA's and the dietician said we are only suppose to eat broth and jello's and popcicles. You should follow the directions your doctor gave you for best results. Good luck to you,

I'm suppose to still be on a liquid diet but cannot tolerate the taste of slim fast. I have been eating watered down oatmeal and skim milk mashed potatoes (Liquid practically). Does anyone think this is to soon?

My surgeon requires a full liquid diet for 14 days after surgery which includes:

Blue Bunny Lite 85 smoothies

Dannon Lite smoothies

Strained, Thinned Cream Soups,Tomato Soup and Broths

100% fruit Juices

No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast

Jello

Popsicles

Hot chocolate

Protein Water

Tea

coffee

Atkins Advantage

Slim Fast(low carb)

Its a good idea to always check with your surgeon, he may require a clear liquid diet, some do.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
