Adelaide Bandsters???

Recommended Posts

Wow, Trish, 13kgs is massive! Great work.

I'm hearing you on the stop in loss, Emma. I have 6ml and although sometimes I feel like I have great restrictions, at others I feel like I have hardly any. I am going to see the new Dr at AOS on the 5th of June as Dr Patroney is on holidays then. I wasn't due to go back till mid-July, but I don't think I can wait that long. I've been busting my guts with exercise and the weight loss is sooooooooo sloooooowwwwwww... Hopefully a tiny bit more fill will help.

How does your restriction feel now? How long after you have eaten do you feel hungry? And how much do you normally eat in one meal? Sorry for all the questions, Emma. I just know we are pretty much at the same point and have the same sized bands etc!!

Dr Justin Bessell at Wakefield Street Hospital. They have the whole lot there and are starting up some seminars and possibly a support group!

Yes, Suzie, I got the second newsletter about all the seminar things they are going to run. Spewing I don't live in Adelaide so can't go! Never mind, I think it is great they are doing it regardless.

And don't worry - I am stuck with weight loss as well. I have been going up and down between 115 and 117 for the last few weeks and it is very very FRUSTRATING especially cos I have been eating well and slogging it out at the gym, walking the dog and playing on the wii fit! Not fair :glare:

Hey Leah, all the questions are fine!! I’ll send you a bill in the post! Did you get a letter from AOS about post-op support group? I’m hoping to get to the one in May!! I have my moments with restriction as well! In the morning sometimes I can hardly have anything while last night I was able to eat a slice of pizza and a little lasagne at a party. I was drinking while I was eating tho so I guess it ‘washed’ it down!!

My restriction is fairly good now! I find I can still eat about a cup but not any more really liked I used to!! If I overdo it I ‘slime’ and had my first little PB yesterday with a pie I ate. I have been going about 3-4 hours between any foods but could prob go longer but at uni its eat whenever you have a break in lectures. How are you going with it all?? I’m getting very excited, im sitting just over 100kg now so cant wait to be over, ill give it a couple of weeks!!!!

Hey Guys, wierd we were all banded by Justin! I was banded 28 Jan, heading in for a fill tomorrow, onto my thrid one now! I started off at 124 now down to just over 104 so getting there :(

I wanna be banded by Justin! but my medibank screwed me as I am covered for the op but not the hospital stay, so unless I can find a private doctor that will do it in a public hospital I have to wait 12 months again for hospital cover :mad2: I am seeing Dr Anderson on the 1st of june, he will asses to see if he will do it in a public hospital but he hardly does the reception told me :D

Hey Tarob, from my understanding Dr. Bessell does private patients at Flinders Medical Centre ( in the public sector) for people in your situation? This was the case when I was looking into it in DEc 08. It is worth giving them a call!!! First post op support meeting tonight with AOS going to pop in a hide in the corner somewhere!! Good luck n let us know wat happens but make sure u call AOS im sure he does the surgery at a public hosp but no idea on waiting times!!-

Hey thanks for that I really wanted to go through Dr Bessell but when I spoke to a lady there she kinda laughed at me when I asked if he will do it in a public hospital, I reckon I will call tomorrow and ask to speak to the nurse there again. she was really helpful to begin with, However I do now have an appointment with Dr Anderson, but he will asses whether he will do it or not,

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
