Recommended Posts

I was banded 3.27.09 and i am planning on going back to work this Wednesday but i may be having second thoughts. When did you go back to work or when do you plan on going back to work?

I was banded Aug. 27, 08, I was out a week, 2nd week I only worked 3-4 hrs a day ( incisions were rubbing my desk and hurt to sit for prolonged period of time). 3rd week I was back full time but had to get up a move from time to time.

Congrats on getting banded. If you can take the time off I wouldn't rush back. It was the best thing I ever did for myself.

Good luck to ya....go at your own pace!!

Everybody heals differently. I was banded on a Thursday, and went back to work the next day. I had no problems at all. I didn't want to sit still. It just all depends on how you feel and what kind of job you have to go back to.

Good luck!

I had surgery on Friday and went back to work the following Wednesday full time with NO problems. I do work an office job though. You'll know - listen to your body.

Was banded on Fri and went back on Monday but came home a couple of hours for the first 3 days back just to lay down and rest. I dont have a hard job, hardest thing is getting in and out of the vechicle.

I had surgery last Monday and am going back tomorrow. I went to the Dr today and he was pleased with my progress...8 lbs lost since surgery and 10 lbs lost on preop diet. However, I was just trying to find something in my closet to wear tomorrow and everything seems tight!!! I guess the swelling is more than I thought it was....not sure what to do now!!

I am going to try to go back tomorrow for half days and return next week full time. I too have a desk job but i am a manager of 14 employees so i am always going....i figure 4 1/2 hour days should be good.

I was banded 3/17 and back to work on 3/20. I do have a desk job but I wish I could of taken more time off just because I seemed to be so tired:mellow: If I had to do it all over again I would've taken more time off, maybe a week.

I was banded on Feb 11. I returned to work Feb 16 but should have waited another week probably. When I returned to work immediately I found that I got tired quickly (at least faster than I thought I would) and ended up working only about 3 hours a day until the next weekend when I was able to "rest up" even more. I returned to a "regular" work schedule a week after I "returned" to work.

I was back at work 6 days after my surgery. I work in a lab, so I have a lot of sitting, but truly I was just a bit tired and I had a hard time changing positions (standing or sitting). That was it. But I think people tend to be very different. If I'm being 100% honest with myself, I think 2 weeks after I had surgery I felt like my old self again, but unfortunately science keeps its own schedule, so I had to follow along. Best of luck !

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
