I went for my first fill today and completely forgot to ask!

GRRRRRRRRRRR!

but i just think that i'm going to talk to my regular dr and get back on allopurinoll. i was on it for a while..then some insurance thing happened and my dr wanst in my provider network..so i just stopped going for a refill...but they got things fixed now. so i guess i'll have to go and see her for a refill.

JMS- did your dr give you a food list of things to avoid? its hard to follow now because we have to eat Protein 1st...and that is what gout sufferes are supposed to avoid. :scared2:

I hear that cherry pills help keep uric acid levels down...basically any dark berries help too.

good luck!

I actually don't have gout (don't think so anyway!!) I have severe spinal disease and bad arthritis in the knees and back and sometimes get inflammation really bad especially if it gets really damp. This is why I take the nsaids. I do find that diet effects it and when I stay on a healthy diet, especially a cleansing diet, I see a huge difference. I was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am going on a trip for two weeks so I will be bold and say that I never believed it was a true disease. I know there will be loads of response to that statement. I do know that many people have true pain and suffer for one reason or another.

I hope you get your meds worked out. I forgot to discuss it with my surgeon as well when I went for my two fills. Good luck to you!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
