Anyone ever take a CLEP test?

Recommended Posts

I am in the process of studying for my first CLEP (one in a series of them). Anyone ever take them? I wondered about test length, difficulty, etc. I am a good student and so far have not found anything in the study guide that made me confused--it seems like the task is really memorizing the key words --

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks

Kimberly

I took a couple in Nashville for my Bachelors in Nursing and they are pretty straightforward.

No big surprises? Were the tests long or short? I am typically a quick test taker--never go back and change answers, etc.......

Nervous!

I did several CLEP test when I was getting my Bachelor's degree. That has been some time ago and I only did the CLEP tests for basics. I am going to say they were about 100 questions. I seem to recall one in English that had you read lots of passages. Just remember to read the instructions first. On some (maybe all or it could have changed) you are penalized worse if you answer incorrectly than if you don't answer at all. In other words it is more important to answer as many as you can correctly and not finish than to rush through and get them wrong or just guess when you just have no idea.

Again, it's been a long time but I didn't have a hard time with them, I passed them all, but I just took them on subjects I felt confident with and I didn't spend much time stydying for them,

Good luck!

I don't remember there being any big surprises. I test the same way you do I go with my first decision and move on and never go back and change an answer. I went all the way through grad school like that.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
