Good morning all!

I am recommitting to my plan. How did I get here? Well I had been on a plateau for months... I've even lost count of it. I kind of lost my drive that I had started with. I think the scale was motivating me and when that stopped, little by little I felt such a let down.

Next, I dabbled in WW but after taking off 9 more pounds I then hit another plateau. I realized I was eating beyond my band... just to get my points in. So I quickly quit that.

I went to a LB meeting and I got renewed hope. So I am here to tell you, my band friends, that I am going to grab on to this second wind and run with it.

Anyone else been there? I must get this other woman off my back! blah!

Timely post! I've been cruising at the same weight for about 3 weeks now. Haven't really tried to change it. I'm getting my second wind now too.

This is a great post!

I Said no, I tried WW and could not do the plan banded either.

I found myself buying their snack foods and eating too many of them!

Lets try to keep this post going!

I would love to join in and support you. Maybe we can get a few people to join in and we could post our weekly losses, challenges, etc.

I have gone from a 2 to 3X clothing to maybe an X-large top and probably 16 pants, but I want more darn it!!

I have been stuck for months.

:crying:

well I am going to review my band rules, and make a plan for the week.

I am still in my mind set of not 'banding' but I'm determined to shake it off and get over this hurdle.

I'm open for ideas... any suggestions?

haha... mine doesn't... she's v. nice.... it's my doctor who scares me. If someone could be labeled the most unmotivating person on the planet... he'd win hands down.:frown:

That is a good idea actually!

Maybe a trip to the nutritionist? Mine scares me..lol.

Mine just annoys me. She actually asked me pre-surg if I had "ever seen a food pyramid".

I was like YES *bleep*, I just like eating the part of it thats the smallest. (I kept the bleep part in my head though).

I think its funny that she assumed that I didnt know what heatlhy eating was. One thing I am pretty sure of, is that most overweight people know more about healthy eating than those people who have been skinny all our lives. I mean...HELLO, we have read every book, taken classes, googled diets, etc. Our problem (or at least mine) is actually putting to use what I knew!

Sorry, I got off on a tangent!

Oh this is so true! I went to one of the lapband support meetings and the newest nutritionist, just graduated,, said to the group, "I have a great idea I want to share with you, when you are making muffins replace the butter with applesauce!" I wanted to walk out.

Then she proceeded to demonstrate portion size.

We now have another nutritionist... just as young, but she seems to have a better understanding of the lapband program.

update:

I went for a fill about 2 weeks ago. I was allowed to see a new doctor, as the last one was so negative I was avoiding going.

I had no change since my last unfill. So that was depressing, BUT, I'm back on track with my second wind.

I think my next step will be to go see the nutritionist and see if she has any ideas.

I think for me, planning is key. In fact, I'm going to go plan right now my day of food/exercise.

Has anyone else done anything to get back on program?

I've had a few setbacks in my band with port issues and only have had 4 cc's in two fills and no restriction. Now that we have resolved those and I'm back on track, I can hopefully get a fill in a week, that will help.

That being said, I believe I've lost weight on willpower and exercise (way more hungry than I let myself eat). Do you log your food and exercise? I love seeing the calories burned and it helps me be sure I'm getting enough Protein and carbs (to avoid becoming ketonic). It also keeps my calories in check until the band can kick in. My band is the Realize Band, so I use their site, but there are many others out there that are free.

www.sparkpeople.com

www.dailyplate.com

...and many others

I'm glad you are back seeing your surgeon and nutritionist. Hopefully that will help, as well!

Good luck to you!!

I am at exactly this stage, but I let it go on far too long. I havent lost a pound since July last year but had no difficulty gaining 10 back. I blamed our summer cruise, then the Xmas holidays. I am so unmotivated I could cry and to top it all off I am having a hard time squeezing into my lovely new post 50lb clothing.

I am scared of my Dr, my nutritionist and just about anyone else I have to tell I gained 10 lbs. After I could barely sit down today in one of my favorite skirts, and spent a very uncomfortable day out with friends I have decided to come back to LB talk and get back on "the bandwagon"

Hello everyone, my name is Amanda and I am a self-destruction addict:) food and laziness being my favorite forms of abuse.

I just read on another thread about the five day pouch test and I intend to start that tomorrow. I have been at a plateau for 3 months. Don't get discouraged!

Well, we all need to step back and get our second wind.

Since we're all in this for the long haul, it is worth it... no matter who we are or how successful... to step back and regroup.

Don't give up.

Amound you sound just like I did a few short days ago. I think i've dropped about 3 pounds... not coming off as fast as when I FIRST had the band, but it will.

We can do this!

I do load my foods, everyday, into spark people. I am thinking of putting them somewhere here on LBT... do any of you post your daily log on a thread somewhere?

What is a "pouch test"?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
